Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea does not improve or resolve on its own, and untreated rosacea can worsen over time. Self-treating with over-the-counter products may not help and may even irritate skin more, causing more redness and bumps. At Heritage Way Medical Spa we prescribe various forms of treatment and recommend which skin care products and cosmetics are appropriate.

Heritage Way medical Spa Burlington offers the world’s first yellow light 577nm diode laser for Rosacea. QuadroStarPRO, the first yellow solid state laser for dermatology. Thanks to its special yellow wavelength of 577 nm, situated at the maximum peak of hemoglobin absorption, it represents the gold standard for vascular treatment for facial blood vessels. Fast, effective and safe, it is also suitable for the treatment of darker skins (no melanin absorption).

Several sessions are typically required for satisfactory results, and touch-up sessions may later be needed as the underlying disease process is still present.

At Heritage Way Medical Spa Burlington, we may suggest combining other treatments for best results.  For example, Medical Facials, and Medical Grade Skin Care Products can help augment the treatment by minimizing irritation and inflammation and calming redness. Daily sun protection is a must for any skin type, but anyone with rosacea should be especially vigilant. Sun exposure was named a top trigger for rosacea flare-ups by 81 percent of patients in a National Rosacea Society survey, and is also linked to the visible blood vessels (telangiectasia) and severe redness often associated with rosacea.
Compliance with Medical Grade Skin Care Products -- using your home care products as your Medical Aesthetician prescribes -- is an important key to success.
