The Lunch-time Laser Peel is ideal for clients who have little time to spare or can't afford to take time off work. This peel significantly reduces fine lines, wrinkles, evens out tone & texture, while tightening the skin.*
Known as the lunch-time (or weekend) peel, this short 30-minute procedure produces lasting results using the Asclepion Erbium:Yag laser - one of the foremost precision lasers available today. Unlike other lasers, the Erbium:Yag laser provides perfect, uniform coverage of the skin during treatment and with significantly less discomfort.*
The Lunch-time laser peel treatment can be customized to be as gentle or aggressive as desired. Each level provides a different end result, adjustable to fit the needs and available downtime of the patient. The laser can be programmed to depths as shallow as 4 microns and as deep as 120 microns (full resurfacing)
What is a Lunch-time Laser Peel?
A laser peel is precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin and can be tailored to the needs of each client. The laser is used to treat the following:
- fine lines & wrinkles
- pigmented lesions (age spots, freckles, etc)
- pre-cancerous lesions (keratoses)
- scars
- blotchy or discolored skin (sun damage)
How does the Erbium laser work?
The Erbium laser, vaporizes micron thin layers of the skin with a high level of control, uniformity & precision. The procedure is also quick (30-minutes) and virtually pain-free.
Who is a candidate for the laser peel?
Candidates are typically clients who have little time and require better results than those provided by microdermabrasion or light chemical peels.
How is the laser peel different from microdermabrasion?
Generally, Microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer (stratum corneum, 10-15 microns) of the skin. For more long-term visible effects, a more aggressive treatment is required, such as the laser peel. Laser peels can be adjusted to depths of 4-50 microns. As this procedure can penetrate deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect middle ground, between microdermabrasion and deeper peels.
How many treatments will I require?
For most clients, the treatment is repeated 2-4 times, with each session 4-6 weeks apart. Otherwise, the number of treatments can be customized according to the client's desired result.
One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to 12 months, but additional procedures can be performed as required. A package of three to four treatments may be best for you. This will be discussed during your consultation.
What can I expect?
Clients will quickly experience improvements in tone, texture & tightening. Skin feels smoother, healthier more vibrant.* During the healing period, client's will experiencing light flaking of the skin.
The initial healing process takes place over 2-7 days depending on the depth of the treatment. Risk of scarring or other complications is minimal. Also, patients can return to daily activities with little downtime.*
Immediately following the procedure you will feel as if you have a bad sunburn. You will have minor sloughing and itchiness the following day. By day two, redness will begin to fade and by day three any redness can be easily covered by makeup.
We will advise you on how best to protect your skin to maintain the benefits you will see from your Laser Peel.
Will I require anesthesia?
A topical anesthetic is optional. If requested, it would be applied thirty to 30-40 minutes before the procedure.
Do I have to wear any bandages after the treatment?
No, you will only require a protective ointment following the procedure to protect the skin and keep it moist during the healing period. Such ointments are used for for one to two days. After that, only a moisturizer is required.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process varies from patient to patient but will generally take from two to seven days.
What areas can I have treated?
Almost any area of the face & body can be treated.
What will I look like after the treatment?
Clients typically experience temporary erythema, edema, described as a sunburn sensation which can last up to twelve hours post-treatment. Note: Some temporary swelling may occur immediately after the procedure, depending on the depth of treatment. Often tissue will peel or flake as a result of the ablation. Peeling or flaking usually occurs after 24 -48 hours.
How do I care for my skin after the procedure?
Your medical aesthetician will provide skin care products & instructions on how to apply them. These will minimize your risk of inflammation or redness and ensure the shortest healing period.
For the next 30 days you will continue to experience improvements in tone, texture and smoothness. Fine lines, wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, sun spots and uneven pigmentation will fade. Note: Results will depend on the client's condition and number of treatments.
Note: Clients must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. A broad spectrum sunblock should also be used during the healing period.
