V-STAT is an occlusive ointment rather than a light gel — petrolatum, mineral oil and paraffin form the barrier, dimethicone gives it slip, and Polyamine-DAB® supports the cell activity underneath. Sealing a healing surface keeps it moist, and skin that stays moist while it closes tends to scar less than skin left to dry and crust. Panthenol and bisabolol take the edge off irritation. It is fragrance-free, and it contains lanolin.
